Pecan Pie
Pecan pie is known to be an absolutely delicious dessert with a rather simple preparation process. This combination of a crunchy pie crust and decadent filling makes this a perfect addition to any gathering. Whether you want to take in its flavors as is or with a scoop of your favorite ice cream, vanilla is recommended, each slice will have you craving more.
Serves: 5-7 people
Ingredients:
- 1 unbaked pie crust
- 2 cups pecan halves
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup dark corn syrup
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Cooking Instructions:
- Begin with a pre-made crust or start from scratch with a homemade crust
- Roughly chop pecans and place evenly into pie crust
- Whisk together the eggs, corn syrup, brown sugar, vanilla, melted butter, salt and cinnamon in a bowl
- After thorough mixing pour the mixture over the pecans
- Bake the pie for 50 minutes in a preheated oven at 355 Fahrenheit or until the top is lightly brown
- If you see the edges of your pie crust are getting dark or burnt, cover the edges with foil
- Once finished remove the pie from the oven and allow it to cool a little. You can serve this delicious pie as is or with a cool scoop of vanilla ice cream.
